Income Tax Fair: Tk 317cr fetched on 6th day

Economic Correspondent: The weeklong Income Tax Fair is receiving a growing response as around Tk 317.88 crore were collected on the 6th day of the fair with some 57,437 returns submitted.

Apart from this, some 173,027 people received various income tax-related services on the day, according to the NBR.

National Board of Revenue (NBR) senior information officer Syed A Mumen confirmed the matter on Tuesday.

Earlier, the 6th day revenue collection of the Income Tax Fair last year was around Tk 310.59 crore with some 28,863 taxpayers submitting their returns. Besides, some 139,178 people received various income tax-related services on the day last year.

On Wednesday (November 1), the Income Tax Fair-2017 kicked off in the capital and other parts of the country with a revenue collection target of more than Tk 3,000 crore in a bid to enable individual taxpayers to gather and file returns and complete tax procedures all in one spot.
