Income tax fair draws huge crowd on 2nd day

Economic Correspondent: The income tax fair-2017 drew a large number of taxpayers on Thursday receiving income tax-related services and information from the tax officials.
On the second day of the weeklong show in the capital, booths were abuzz with huge numbers of taxpayers. The taxpayers expressed satisfaction after getting their Tax Identity Card which was launched for the first time this year.
Akbar Hossain, an official of Janata Bank told risingbd.com, "I have come here to submit income tax return taking few minutes leave from my office. It takes little bit more time due to huge crowd. However, I feel great receiving Tax ID card."
Abdul Razzak, member of National Board of Revenue (tax administration and human resources management) said, "Tax payers are submitting their income tax return in a festive mood from this morning. Besides, many taxpayers are submitting their tax return through online."
The Income Tax Fair at the district level will be held on any four days in the first week of November while a two-day-long fair will take place in 32 selected upazilas.
The NBR has been holding the fair regularly since 2010 to motivate people to pay taxes and create a tax culture in the country. E-TIN registration, E-payment and online income tax return and other service are available in the fair.
