Indefinite transport strike in 21 dists from Monday

Staff Correspondent: Transport owners and workers called an indefinite strike in 21 districts of the country's south western region.

The strike will be enforced from Monday if the authority fails to fulfill the 12 point demands of the transport organizations within Sunday.

The Road Transport Owners-Workers’ Unity Council of south western part took the decision at a meeting at Khulna Press Club on Saturday noon.

In a written speech, the organization convener Abdul Gaffar Biswas said that the authority has to fulfill 12 point demands including press note issuing against over laden transports, extortion in ferry ghat, harassments in name of checking papers, unnecessary speed breakers, cases against truck drivers.
