Int'l travel and tourism fair begins

Staff Correspondent: A three-day international tourism fair dubbed "Biman Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair (BBTTF)" has begun.

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon inaugurated the fair at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the capital on Thursday noon.

While inaugurating the fair as the chief guest, the minister said, "The tourism should be based on the sustainable development in the development of the country. We have to work keeping the issue in our heads. Our tourism sector should be developed more outside of the world."

Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB) has organised the seventh edition of the mega event with the partnership of national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

Some 50 exhibitors from the 13 countries, especially from South and South-East Asia, have attended the fair to showcase their offer and packages for in and out bound travelers.

There are 140 stalls and 18 mini pavilions of different organisations relating to travel and tour in the fair.

The BBTTF will remain open for visitor at 10:00am to 8:00pm and entry fee is Taka 30.
