Irad Siddiqui lands in jail

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has ordered to send Chowdhury Irad Ahmed Siddiqui, son of a former BNP leader Chowdhury Tanvir Ahmed Siddiqui, to jail.

Irad was produced before the court on Tuesday after a remand.

Rejecting his bail plea, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Zakir Hossain ordered to send him to jail.

Police arrested Irad on charges of making derogatory remarks about Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the present government on facebook. Counter Terrorism Unit of police arrested Irad from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. 

They also seized mobile phone set, SIM card and a laptop from his possession.
