Economic Correspondent: Chairman of Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd. Arastoo Khan has stepped down from its Board of Directors, according to a source of the Bank.

According to official sources at the bank, the resignation letter of Arastoo Khan was accepted by a meeting of the board of directors on Tuesday.

Meanwhile Dr Nazmul Hossain, Dhaka University (DU) teacher and Independent Director of the bank, was made acting chairman.

Arastoo Khan said about his resignation that he stepped down from the chairman post of IBBL on personal ground as he wants to spend more time with his family.

Arastoo Khan was made chairman of the IBBL on January 5 last year at a board meeting of the bank immediately after the removal of the then chairman Mostafa Anwar.
