‘It is difficult to take action against transport owners

Senior Correspondent: Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said that we cannot take action against the transport owners anytime. 

"The transport owners are very influential.  According to the reality of the country, it is very difficult to take action against transport owners. When the government takes action against transport owners and workers, they stop transport service that creates huge public sufferings”, the minister said.

The minister said this at a ceremony to hand over a cheque to a victim’s family at the Secretariat in the city on Tuesday.
