JMB planned to bring arms using sea route

Staff Correspondent: Neo JMB (Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh) of Sarwar-Tamim Group planned to bring arms and ammunitions in the country from foreign countries using the sea rout.

For this, they were trying to recruit their people for the ships by providing fake papers. They have several trawlers in the coastal areas including Hatiya.

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)’s Legal and Media Wing Director Mufti Mahmud Khan said this to the reporters at a press briefing held at its media center at Karwan Bazar in the capital on Friday noon.

Three JMB members who were detained from Savar area were introduced at the press briefing.

On the basis of secret information, RAB-4 seized a bus in Savar on Thursday night and arrested Tamim Dari (32) along with two associates. The other two members are Kamrul Hasan alias Kajal alias Nuruddin, 26, and Mostafa Majumder alias Shihab alias Hamza, 32.

At the time, RAB also recovered a foreign pistol, 5 rounds of bullets, two magazines, one kg of explosion, IED making equipment, three knives, a machete, a laptop and foreign currencies.
