JS session to run till Feb 28

Staff Correspondent: The 19th session of the 10th Parliament has begun on Sunday afternoon with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.

The session will continue till February 28 next.

The decision came at a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the current parliament held at the Jatiya Sangsad on Sunday. Committee Chairman and Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury presided over the meeting.

The session will start at 4:30pm on each working day except January 8, February 20 and 22 and public holidays.  On January 10 next, the sitting of the session will begin after Magrib prayer.

The BAC meeting fixed 45 hours for discussion over the Thanksgiving Motion on the President’s Speech in the session.

The meeting also decided that the Speaker may extend or reduce the working days of the current session.
