Jamaat leader Hamidur Rahman surrenders to ICT

Staff Correspondent: Jamaat-e-Islami executive committee member and ex-lawmaker Hamidur Rahman Azad has surrendered to International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) in a contempt of court case.
The Jamaat leader surrendered before a bench headed by ICT Chairman Justice Md Shahinur Rahman around 10.45am on Wednesday.
Three Jamaat leaders including Hamidur Rahman Azad made remarks about ICT at a rally in Motijheel on February 4, 2013 where they also warned the tribunal saying that the judges needed to think before giving any verdicts as they could lead the country into a civil war.
The tribunal first issued a showcase notice and then issued arrest warrant.
