Janata Bank building fire under control

Staff Correspondent: A fire that broke out at the building of Janata Bank in the capital's Motijheel area brought under control, around 9:00am on Tuesday, nearly after 20 minutes of ensuing the blaze.

Ataur Rahman, Duty Officer of Fire Service control room, confirmed the news.

Earlier, the fire originated at the level-9 of the 24-storey building around 8:40am.

Being informed, three units of Fire Service rushed to the spot. They are currently trying to douse the blaze, according to the Fire Service control room.

Debashis Bardhan, deputy director (instructor) of the fire service, told risingbd that a three-member probe committee has been formed to investigate into the incident.

He, however, could not tell the reason of originating fire immediately.
