Staff Correspondent: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been moved back to old central jail on Nazimuddin road in Dhaka from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on Thursday morning.

She was taken back to the jail from the hospital at 11:37am.

Security measures were beefed up around the hospital and jail since morning.

She was admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University hospital on October 6.

Sources at the central jail said Khaleda Zia will be produced before a makeshift court inside the jail for hearing of Niko graft case.

Earlier on February 8 last, Khaleda Zia was jailed for five years in Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case.

Judge Md Akhtaruzzaman of Dhaka’s Fifth Special Judge’s Court delivered the verdict in the graft case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) during the last army-backed caretaker government in 2008.

The High Court on October 30 enhanced the punishment of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia to 10 years imprisonment in the case.
