Khaleda Zia’s condition not so good; says Fakhrul

Staff Correspondent: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said the party chairperson Khaleda Zia’s condition is not so good.

The BNP leader told this to the reporters after visiting the BNP Chief at old Central Jail on Nazimuddin Road in Dhaka on Friday afternoon.

Fakhrul said, “We were tensed since we got news of her (Khaleda) illness. She is suffering from neurological complexities along with pain on knees.”

He also demanded to appoint a personal physician in jail for the party chairperson.

Earlier, Fakhrul reached the old Central Jail on Nazimuddin Road in Dhaka around 4:30pm. After waiting for a while at the jail gate, he entered the jail as authority allowed him to meet Khaleda Zia.

On February 8, a special court sentenced the three-time prime minister to five years rigorous imprisonment in the much-talked-about Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
