Staff Correspondent: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has expressed no-confidence in the judge of a trial court, who is dealing with Zia Orphanage and Zia Charitable Trust graft cases.

The BNP Chief expressed the no-confidence on judge Abu Ahmed Jomadar of Special Judge Court-3 set up at Bakshibazar in the capital on Thursday.

The cases were scheduled to hear self-statement from Khaleda Zia.

At the very beginning of the hearing, the judge asked Khaleda Zia to take preparation for self-statement.

However, Khaleda's lawyers appealed to hear first the petition filed on January 30 for seeking reinvestigation in the cases. But the court dismissed it, saying self-statement hearing first.

Then, BNP Chairperson expressed her no-confidence in the judge of the trial court.

On August 8, 2011, the ACC filed the Zia Charitable Trust graft case with Tejgaon Police Station accusing four people, including Khaleda, of raising funds for the trust from unknown sources abusing power.

The Zia Orphanage graft case was filed by the ACC on July 3, 2008, with Ramna Police Station for misappropriating over Tk 2.10 crore that was received as grants for orphans via a foreign bank.
