Staff Correspondent: The High Court (HC) has asked BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia to file a supplemental petition by Monday for bail in the sabotage case filed under the Special Powers Act in Cumilla.
The bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice SM Mozibur Rahman came up with the order on Sunday, following a petition filed by the state.
Attorney General Mahbubey Alam represented the state in the court.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's lawyer AJ Mohammad Ali along with Barrister A K M Ehsanur Rahman was present in the court.
In hearing, Attorney General said, “Kahleda’s lawyers did not submit certified copy of lower court’s order when they filed petition for bail with HC. There is procedure to submit the certified order of trial court’s order. But they did it on the 2nd day. So, the petition was not submitted on proper way.”
Then, the HC bench asked Khaleda’s lawyers to submit a supplemental petition by Monday.
