‘Khaleda to be given advanced treatment if needed’

Staff Correspondent: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said BNP chairperson Khaleda will be provided advanced treatment if it is needed. But before that suggestions will be taken from expert physicians.
The Minister came up with the statement while speaking at a programme at Institution of Diploma Engineers in the capital on Saturday noon.
Kamal said, “BNP’s letter in this regard has yet not reached my hands. Government physicians are looking after BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia. Her (Khaldea) health condition was examined at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital as they suggested. The treatment is still running on the same way.”
In reply to a query, the Minister said, “Khaleda’s personal physicians are also looking after her health. She is getting the facility as well. Apart from this, she will be given advanced treatment as per jail code if it is needed.”
BNP chief Khaleda was sentenced to five years imprisonment in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case by a Dhaka’s special court on February 8. Since she has been in the Old Dhaka central on Nazimuddin Road in the capital.
