Khaleda’s bail extended

Staff Correspondent: The High Court has extended once again till October 15 the bail of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
The HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mustafizur Rahman passed the bail order following a prayer moved by Khaleda’s lawyer Barrister Kayser Kamal on Thursday.
A Dhaka court on February 8 convicted and sentenced Khaleda Zia to five years’ imprisonment in Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case. Since then Khaleda Zia is in jail.
The HC on March 12 granted four-month bail to Khaleda Zia in this case which expired on July 12. The HC extended the bail for eight times till today.
