Legal notice served to stop public meeting at Shahbagh

Staff Correspondent: A legal notice has been sent to five persons including Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs for taking necessary steps to stop public meeting, human chain and procession in Suhrawardy Udyan and Shahbagh intersection area.
Supreme Court lawyer Yunus Ali Akand sent this notice with registry on Monday.
The other responders of the legal notice are Inspector General of Bangladesh Police, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Shahbagh Thana Officer-in-Charge and mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation.
The legal notice said due to noise pollution and public gathering in the area, normal activities and security of the Supreme Court are being interrupted.
Apart from this, the usual activities of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University and Hospital, BIRDEMHospital, Dhaka University, Secretariat and other hospitals and educational institutions are being hampered.
The concerned have been asked to take steps within 24 hours of receiving notice or else he will move to a writ petition with the High Court.
