Leo Messi comes to the aid of kids in Syria

Sports Desk: FC Barcelona superstar Leo Messi used powerful social media platform to focus the world’s attention on the Syrian crisis.

Syria has been involved in a long civil war which has seen thousands of innocents killed in recent years.

With no end to the war in sight, Messi lent his voice to echo calls for an end to the conflict in the Middle East.

Messi, of course, is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

This week reports have filtered out of Syria showing that Leo Messi wasn’t just paying lip service to the problems in the country.

Leo Messi’s foundation has reportedly paid for the construction of 20 prefabricated classrooms, which allow 1600 Syrian children to get the education they badly need.

According to reports, more than 60% of the children attending these schools have been displaced from their homes because of the fighting.
