Lighterage ship sinks in Bay of Bengal

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: A lighterage vessel capsized near the Sandwip channel on Sunday after collision with another vessel on Sunday.
Coast guard sources said that two vessels named MV Bashundhara and MV Fardin collided from opposite direction in the area around 10:30am. At one stage, the lighterage ship MV Fardin started to sink. Meanwhile, 13 sailors in the vessel were rescued by a local fishing trawler.
Coast Guard Eastern Operations Officer Saiful Islam confirmed the matter.
