Listed drug trader killed in Teknaf gunfight

Cox's Bazar Correspondent: A listed drug trader was killed in a gunfight with police in Hatchery Zone of Maheshkhalia in Cox's Bazar's Teknaf on Wednesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Mafijul Alam. He was wanted in seven cases.

Teknaf police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Pradip Kumar Das said acting on a tip-off that two groups of Yaba traders locked into a gun battle, police conducted a drive in the area. Meanwhile, the drug traders opened fire aiming police. In reply, police also opened fire.



Later, dead body of a person recovered from the spot. Five guns, 10 rounds of bullets and 5,000 pieces of Yaba pills were also recovered.
