MA Awal made AB bank's new chairman

Economic Correspondent: MA Awal has been made new chairman of the country's first generation private bank Arab Bangladesh (AB) Bank Limited after predecessor M Wahidul Haque resigned.

Firoz Ahmed has been made the vice-chairman of the bank and three new directors have been appointed at the board of directors of the bank.

The three new directors are Moshtaque Ahmed Chowdhury, Sazir Ahmed and Shirin Sheikh.

The recruitment of the new faces was given at the annual general meeting of the bank held at Le Meridian Hotel in the city on Thursday, said an official of the bank seeking anonymity.

Also resignation letters of two more directors -- Selim Ahmed and director Fahimul Haque -- were accepted at the annual general meeting of the bank.
