MP Liton murder: 3 more Jamaat men held

Gaibandha Correspondent: Police detained three more local leaders and activists of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami on suspicion of their involvement in the murder of Gaibandha-1 (Sundarganj) lawmaker Manjurul Islam Liton.

The detainees are identified as- Alauddin Mia, Rafat Uddin and Al Amin Sarkar.

Atiar Rahman, Sundarganj police station officer-in-charge (OC) said that the law enforcers arrested the suspects from different areas of the upazila on Monday.

The detainees will be produced before the court after primary interrogation, he added.

MP Liton was shot at point blank range in his village home in Masterpara of Sundarganj on December 31. He was admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital, where attending doctors declared him dead.
