MPO suspended for 2 teachers over Nusrat murder

Staff Correspondent: The Directorate of Madrasa Education (DME) has suspended Monthly Pay Order (MPO) for two teachers over the incident of sexual harassment to Feni Sonagazi madrasa Nusrat Jahan Rafi and burning her to death.

The teachers are principal Maulana Siraj Ud Doula and English teacher Professor Afsar Uddin of Sonagazi Islamia Fazil Madrasa.

Safiuddin Ahmed, Director General (DG) of The Directorate of Madrasa Education (DME), signed the notification in this regard on Thursday.

A group of four unidentified persons poured kerosene on Nusrat and set her fire on April 6 allegedly for refusing to withdraw a case against the principal of Sonagazi Islamia Senior Fazil Madrasa over sexual assault.

Nusrat succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday night.
