Maitree Hall provost relieved

Staff Correspondent:  Provost of Kuwait Maitree Hall Dr Shabnam Jahan has been relieved of her duties after evidence of rigging during Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu) election.

She has been replaced by Prof Dr Mahbuba Nasrin, director of Disaster Management and Vulnerability Studies Institute.

.A four-member probe body headed by DU pro-VC (Administration) Prof Muhammad Samad has been formed to investigate the incident.

Voting at the girls’ hall was suspended around 9:30am on Monday after a stash of stamped ballots in favour of Bangladesh Chhatra League’s panel was found.
Public Relations Department of the university said this at a press release on Monday.
