Eid congregations when, where?

Risingbd Desk: Eid-Ul-Fitr, one of the biggest religious festivals of Muslims, is likely to be celebrated in the country on Saturday, subject to the sighting of moon.

If moon is not sighted on Friday, the festival must be celebrated on Sunday, as Ramadan will complete the 30th day of it on Saturday.

All out preparations have already been taken for Eid congregations across the country.

Law enforcement agencies have already taken special security measures across the country including the capital Dhaka to avoid any unwanted incident on the festival day.

The main Eid jamaat (congregation) of the Eid-Ul-Fitr will be held at National Eidgah on the city's High Court premises at 8:30am on the Eid day.

Maulana Muhammad Mizanur Rahman, senior Imam of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, will conduct the prayer.

People interested in attending Eid jamaat at National Eidgah are requested not to take somethings, without prayer mats and umbrellas.

At Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, five Eid congregations will be held from 7:00am to 10:45am. Other jamaats will be held at 8:00am, 9:00am and 10:00am gradually.

Mufti Muhibullahil Baqi Nadvi, Maulana Mohiuddin Kasem, Maulana Waliur Rahman Khan, Maulana Jubair Ahamed Al-Ajhari, all Imams of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, and Maulana Mushtak Ahmad of Tejgaon Railyway mosque, will lead the congregations.

Eid congregation will be held at the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban at 8:00am. Cabinet members, whips, lawmakers, officials and employees of the parliament secretariat and locals will attend the prayer.

Besides, Eid jamaats will be held at different mosques and Eidgah in the capital.

Dhaka South and North City Corporation authorities arranged a total of 409 Eid congregations in the capital in the two cities.

Two Eid congregations will be held at the central mosque of Dhaka University at 8:00am and 9:00am.

Besides, Eid jamaats will be held at the grounds of Salimullah Muslim Hall and Shahidullah Hall at 8:00am.  The Eid congregation arranged by Bangladesh Jamiyate Ahle Hadith will be held at the playing ground of Dhaka University at 7:30am.

Eid jamaat at the ground of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) will be held at 7:45am.

In case of inclement weather, the Eid congregation will be held at 8:00am.

Three Eid congregations will be held Kataban mosque at 7:00am, 7:45am and 8:30am.

Meanwhile, Eid jamaats will be held at Dhanmondi Eidgah at 8:00am, Bashiruddin Road mosque of Kolabagan at 8:30am and Mirpur Furfura Darbar Markaz Isha’ate Islma mosque at 8:30am.

The country’s largest Eid congregation will be held at Sholakia The prayers will begin at 10:00am with lakhs of devotees coming from different parts of Bangladesh and from abroad ahead of Eid will attend the historic Eid jamaat at the Sholakia Eidgah.

In Chattrogram, all preparations have been completed for celebrating the greatest religious festivity of the Muslim’s Eid-ul-Fitr and holding congregations at over 2,780 Eidgahs in the port city.

CCEJC has completed preparations to hold a total of 96 Eid congregations at different venues in the port city. The Eid congregations under the CCEJC will be held at 8 am to 8.30 am.

The main Eid congregation of CCEJC will be held at MA Aziz stadium at 8 am where Principal of the Baitus Sharaf Madrasha Moulana Saiyed Abu Noman will conduct the prayer.

Meanwhile, CCC will arrange a total of 163 Eid congregations on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr at its 41 Ward under the supervision of the respective ward Councilors.

In Rajshahi, main Eid Jamaat (congregation) in the divisional city will be held on Shah Mukhdum Central Eidgah Moidan at 8 am. Muhtamim of Jameya Islamia Shahmukhdum Maulana Shahadat Ali will conduct the prayer.

The second largest ones will be held at Shaheb Bazar Zero point and Tikapara Eidgah at the same time.

Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) authorities have has prepared 25 Eidgah moidan including the central Eidgah for holding the Eid congregation successfully.

Some other main Eid jamaats will be held on Tikapara Eidgah Moidan, Rajshahi Court Eidgah, Rajshahi Stadium, Shalbagan Eidgah, Rajshahi University, New Market Jame Mosque, Police Line Math, Upashahar Eidgah Moidan and Rajarhata Jame Mosque.

According to RCC sources, divisional office of Islamic Foundation and Shah Mukhdum Darga Trust, Rajshahi city’s first Eid-congregation will be held at Nawdapara Mango Crossing Ahle Hadith Math at 7.30 am.

Afterwards, other Eid-jamaat will be held at different points from 7.30 am to 8.30am.
