Man detained with gold bars at Ctg airport

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: Customs officials at Shah Amanat International Airport have seized six gold bars from a man, which he had hidden in his anal passage.

Md Jamal Uddin, 42, came to Chattogram from Sharjah by an Air Arabia flight.
Deputy Customs Commissioner Nur Uddain Milon said that the metal detector indicated that he had concealed some kind of metal in his body.

“At the beginning, he denied, but confessed when officers said that he would have to go through a surgery. Six gold bars were hidden in his anal passage."

The seized gold bars weight 680 gram and its estimated market value stands at Tk 25 lakh, said the customs official.
