Man `who torched police van’ gives confessional statement

Staff Correspondent: The youth, who allegedly torched a car of Dhaka metropolitan Police (DMP) in front of the BNP office in Nayapaltan area on November 14 last year, gave confessional statement in a case filed with Pallabi Police Station.

Munshi Shahidul Islam, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Pallabi Police Station, also Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, produced Wasim before the court in a case filed for vandalising Awami League (AL) election office and filed a petition for recording statement in the case on Friday.

As per the petition, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jasim Uddin recorded the statement and sent him to jail.

Earlier, he was arrested by a Pallabi Police team from Bihari Camp area of Pallabi early Thursday.
