Manobkantha acting editor Abu Bakar passes away

Staff Correspondent: The acting editor of Daily Manobkantha Abu Bakar Chowdhury passed away at the age of 55.

He breathed his last at Ibne Sina Hospital in the capital 5:15am on Tuesday.

Ali Chowdhury, younger brother of him said, he suffered from a heart stroke at his residence around 4:00am and was sent to the hospital where the doctor declared him dead.

Abu Bakar was born at Green Road area in Dhaka on June 21, 1964. He had completed master’s degree in management from Dhaka University. He started his career joining ‘Saptahik Prottoyon’ as an executive editor in 2009. Later, he joined ‘Ajker Kagoj’ as an associate editor in 1995. 

He joined Manobkantha as a news editor in 2012 and took charge of acting editor in 2015. He became executive editor of the daily in 2017.

The first janaza of the journalist will be held at Takwa Masjid in Dhanmondi after Asr prayer today.
