Manpower export-channel to Malaysia opened

Mostofa Imran Razu, Malaysia: The much awaited manpower exporting channel to Malaysia has been opened, kicking out all speculations.

Visiting State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam formally came up with the declaration after a ministry-level meeting between the two countries on Friday.

He flew there to attend the 'Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers on the Situation of the Rohingya Muslim Minority in Myanmar'.

In a query to newsmen at the newly shifted Bangladesh High Commission in the country, the state minister said, "Manpower exporting process will be started this week through online. The necessary documents of some 6,000 workers have already been attested. Another 50,000 documents are expected to attest in this month as well."

"This year, Bangladesh is expected to send as more workers to Malaysia alone so far it exported to the whole world in 2016," he added.

Earlier, Shahriar Alam visited the Bangladesh High Commission which was recently shifted in a new building. He also talked to the Bangladesh workers there and exchanged greetings with them.
