Marcel 7th T20 cricket: Walton reach final

Sports Correspondent: Walton secured their spot in final after a comfortable 85-run victory against First Security Islami Bank in the semi final match of Marcel 7th T20 cricket tournament in the capital on Saturday.

Winning toss, Walton Group scored 183 runs in their stipulated 20 overs losing 6 wickets.

In reply, First Security Islami Bank managed to score 98 runs in 14 overs losing all wickets. As a result, the defending champion Walton reached the final with a 85-run victory.

Earlier, the match started at 9:00am at Ground-3 of Dhaka Residential Model School in the capital.

Walton's batsman Sajjad Hossain Shakil scored 59 runs which is the highest in the innings while Sahel Mia scored 47 runs.

Walton's best bowler Rahatul Islam Chowdhury took three wickets for 10 runs. Nurul Afsar Chowdhury and Omar Faruk got two wickets each.

Sajjad Hossain Shakil won man of the match award for his outstanding performance in the match.

The final match of the tournament will be held on January 20.
