March 7 sexual harassment: Evidences found in video footage

Staff Correspondent: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal told reporters that evidences were found over the sexually harassment taken place in a procession of the historic March 7.

The Minister came up with the disclosure while speaking at the annual prize giving ceremony of the capital’s Tejgaon Ideal School and College on Sunday noon.

He said, “It is true that several molesters sexually harassed a student of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College on crowded streets of Dhaka on March 7. We have watched the video footage. Police have contacted to the girl’s family and talked over the matter.”

“The molesters must be brought to justice after identifying them. Thousands of people including a lot of women took the streets to attend the rally on the day. But the people who committed the offence must be identified. What was the motive behind the incident?’ he added.

In reply to a query, the Minister said, ‘The government did not arrest any BNP leader illegally. The accused who committed sabotage on different times are being arrested after being confirmed watching video footages of the incidents.
