Mashrafe hopes to win tri-nation series

Staff Correspondent: Bangladesh One-Day International captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza expressed his hope to win the tri-nation series in Ireland before the Champions Trophy to be held in England in June.

The inspirational captain came up with the hope in a press conference at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in the capital's Mirpur on Tuesday.

He said, "I do not know what people say. But I think we are going there just to win the series."

Bangladesh will leave Dhaka on Wednesday for a 10-day preparation camp at Sussex in England before the tri-nation series.

Mashrafe said, "If we can win the tri-nation series, our confidence level will go high. It will support us mentally. Otherwise, we have to face pressure."

The tri-nation series is scheduled to be held in Ireland among the host, New Zealand and Bangladesh from May 12. There will be no final match in the series. Every team will fight in two games. The team will achieve more points will be announced as the series winner.
