Mashrafe’s birthday today

Sports Desk: Today is the 35th birthday of Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, current captain of the One Day International for Bangladesh national cricket team.

He was born on 5 October in 1983 in Narail district.

Mashrafe is one of the most successful captains ever in the history of Bangladesh cricket and has led the side to many heroic victories under his tenure.

Mortaza’s career has been hampered by injuries and he has undergone a total of ten operations on his knees and ankles.

He broke into the national side in late 2001 against Zimbabwe and represented Bangladesh before having played a single first-class match.

The right-arm pacer has played 36 Tests for Bangladesh, taking 78 scalps and as many as 251 wickets in 196 One-Day Internationals and 42 wickets in T20Is for Bangladesh.
