Maulana Saad won't attend Biswa Ijtema

Senior Correspondent: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that Tabligh-Jamaat Scholar Maulana Saad Kandhalvi will not attend Biswa Ijtema.

He said Maulana Saad Kandhalvi will leave Bangladesh at a convenient time. Scholars of Tabligh-Jamaat will decide who will conduct Akheri Munajat (concluding prayer). 

The Minister came up with the disclosure after holding a meeting with two rival sides of Tabligh-Jamaat on Thursday evening.

Earlier around 3:00pm, the meeting started at conference room of the Home Ministry at Bangladesh Secretariat, ended around 5:30pm.

Maulana Saad Kandhalvi is currently staying in the capital's mosque where law enforcers tightened a security measures.

It may be mentioned that several thousands of Tabligh-Jamaat men gathered in front of the entrance of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday morning protesting the arrival of Maulana Saad for his “controversial comments”.

Later, law enforcement agencies took him to the mosque from the airport.
