Media Employee Act to be placed in parliament

Senior Correspondent: Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said that drafts of Media Employee Act and National Broadcast Act have been finalised. The two laws will be placed in the parliament.

The minister came up with the disclosure in a discussion with leaders of broadcast journalist centres at the Secretariat on Tuesday noon.

Hasan Mahmud said, “Information Ministry has finalised the two acts and sent these to the Law Ministry for vetting. Hope, Law Ministry will give the vetting within a short time. Then, the acts will be placed in the parliament.”

He further said, “A parliament session will begin on Wednesday. But we cannot place the bills in this session. Hope, we can present these in the next session.”
