Media play positive role to curb militancy: IGP

Staff Correspondent: Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque said that media played an important role to curb militancy in the country.

The IGP made the opinion while addressing a programme at police headquarters on Sunday.

He said, "The professional goal of policemen and newsmen is same. The both work for people and the country. Media also play an important role to form public opinion."

"Newsmen worked relentless job to create awareness against militancy, drugs and terrorism," he added.

Meanwhile, Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) president Abu Saleh Akan, general secretary Sarwar Alam and others attended the programme.
