Medical report on Khaleda Zia Sunday

Staff Correspondent: The medical board formed to ensure proper treatment for BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia who is now in jail after being convicted in a graft case will submit its report tomorrow (Sunday).

Mahmudul Hasan, assistant surgeon of Dhaka central jail, came up with the information on Saturday.

“Members of the board have examined physical condition of the BNP chief and they will submit their official report on Khaleda Zia tomorrow (Sunday),” Mahmudul Hasan said.

Earlier around 3:30pm, a five-member medical team entered the Dhaka old central jail to check up health condition of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

Amid the growing demand of BNP to ensure proper treatment for its chief, a fresh medical board was formed by the government incorporating five experienced doctors from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).

On February 8 last, a Dhaka court convicted Khaleda Zia and sentenced her five years rigorous imprisonment in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case. Since then, she has been in old central jail on Nazimuddin road.
