Medical team enters jail to examine Khaleda’s health

Staff Correspondent: A five-member medical team has entered the Dhaka old central jail to check up health condition of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia who is now in jail after being convicted in a graft case.

The medical team entered the jail after 3:30 pm on Saturday to examine the overall health condition of the BNP chief.

Amid the growing demand of BNP to ensure proper treatment for its chief, a fresh medical board has been formed by the government incorporating five experienced doctors from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).

On February 8 last, a Dhaka court convicted Khaleda Zia and sentenced her five years rigorous imprisonment in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case. Since then, she has been in old central jail on Nazimuddin road.
