Medicines from Bangladesh being exported to 127 countries

Staff Correspondent: Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed has said after meeting the local demand, medicines from Bangladesh are being exported to 127 countries.

The minister said this while speaking at the inaugural function of three-day Asia Pharma Expo-2017 organized by Bangladesh Aushad Shilpa Samity at International Convention City at Bashundhara in the city on Thursday.

“Pharmaceuticals industry is proud of our country. Once we used to import 70 percent of our medicines but now the local companies meet 98 percent of our demand”, the minister said.

A total of 500 companies of 35 countries including the USA, Japan, China and India are participating in the expo. 

The exposition will continue till Saturday and will open from 10.00am to 6.00pm everyday.
