Mild earthquake jolts Chattogram

Staff Correspondent: A mild earthquake has jolted different parts of Chattogram district on Sunday morning.

The tremor, measuring 4.9 magnitude on the Richter scale, was felt around 9:00am, said the Met Office adding that the epicenter of the earthquake was about 119 kilometer north eastern region of India.

Confirming the matter, Ayesha Akter, an official of Met Office said, the earthquake shook different parts of Chattogram and its adjoining Bandarban, Rangamati, Khagrachhari and Feni districts.

However, no damage or casualty was reported by the tremor.
