Militant Imam Mehedi remanded

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has placed militant Imam Mehedi on four-day remand.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yeasir Ahsan Chowdhury passed the order on Thursday.

Earlier, Investigation Officer (IO) of the case Belayet Hossain, also Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) of RAB, produced him before the court and sought 10-day remand.

Imam Mehedi Hasan alias Abu Jibril, 29, son of Khorshed Alam of Razapur village under Potuakhali's Baufol Police Station, was arrested from Banasree area on Wednesday night.

Law enforcers also seized two laptops, a mobile phone set, a passport and some extremist books from his possession.
