Bangladesh take 43-run lead

Sports Correspondent: Bangladesh took a 43-run lead as Australia registered 217 runs losing all wickets 74.5 overs in the first innings of the first test at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital's Mirpur.

Earlier, Bangladesh posted 260 runs losing all wickets too in 78.5 overs.

Meanwhile, Tigers have started the second innings on day two after they packed up Aussies early.

Bangladesh's spinner, also the World's no. 1 allrounder Shakib Al-Hasan took five wickets off 68 runs with 7 maidens.

Another spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz bagged 3 wickets for 62 runs. A wicket was also sent back by Taijul Islam while another was dismissed by run out.

No Aussie batsman could hit a fifty in the first innings. Matt Renshaw scored 45 runs off 94 balls and Ashton Agar posted 41 runs off 97 balls for Australia. The other Aussie cricketers could not manage to hit any mentionable score as they were busy to come and go.
