Missing BGB man's body recovered from Teesta

Lalmonirhat Correspondent: Indian Border Security Force (BSF) recovered the missing member of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) from Teesta River in Dhagram border of Lalmonirhat on Wednesday.

The victim is identified as BGB member Lance Nayek Sumon Mia.

Sources said that the BSF rescue team found the body around 10:10am.

Lieutenant Colonel Golam Morshed, commanding officer (CO) of Lalmonirhat 15 BGB Battalion, said the body was found nearly four kilometers away from the spot in Teesta.

BGB Rangpur local commander Brigadier General AKM Saiful Islam Saif and Rangpur sector commander Abul Kalam Azad are heading toward the spot, he said.

Earlier, on Monday, the BGB man went missing after he jumped into the Teesta River for nabbing alleged cattle smugglers in Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat.
