Moon sighted: Eid-ul-Fitr in Bangladesh Saturday

Staff Correspondent: Eid-ul-Fitr, the largest religious festival of the Muslims, will be celebrated in Bangladesh on Saturday as the moon of Shawwal month was sighted in Bangladesh sky on Friday.

National Moon Sighting Committee confirmed the matter.

Earlier, a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee was held today in the conference room of the Islamic Foundation at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque complex of the city.

All preparations for holding the Eid congregations have already been completed across the country. The main Eid-ul-Fitr congregation will be held at the Jatiya Eidgah in the capital at 8:30am.

In case of inclement weather, the main congregation will be held at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque at 9:00am.

On the Eid day, the national flag will be hoisted atop public and private buildings.

President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today greeted the countrymen as well as the Muslims across the world on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the greatest religious festivals of the Muslim Ummah.
