Mother killed, two kids burnt in Badda fire

Staff Correspondent: A woman has been killed and her two kids injured in a fire incident in Badda area of the capital.

The deceased was identified as Jesmin Aktar, 30.

Officer-in-charge of the Badda police station, Kazi Mohammad Wazed Ali, told risingbd.com, the mother and her two children were burnt in the fire that broke out around 3:30am.

Neighbours said that hearing hue and cry locals rushed to the spot and rescued the three. Later, the injured were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where Jesmin died under treatment this morning.

Doctor at DMCH burn unit said that the two kids eleven-year-old Amanullah sustained 30% burn injuries while his eight-year-old sister Sanjida sustained 28% burn injuries in the fire.

The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
