Mother-son murder: Jony remanded

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has placed the main accused Al-Amin alias Jony on a six-day remand in the case of mother-son killing at the capital's Kakrail.

Judge Md Ahsan Habib of the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court passed the order after hearing in the case on Sunday.

Earlier, Investigation Officer (IO) of the case Ali Hossain, also Inspector (Civil) of Ramna Police Station, appeared Jony before the court and sought 10-day remand.

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Jony from Gopalganj early Saturday.

Shamsunnahar Karim, 46, and her son Shaon, 19, were hacked to death at their own house in the capital's Kakrail on November 1.

Jony is brother of Abdul Karim's second wife Sharmin Mukta while the slain Shamsunnahar was his first wife.
