Movement to continue untill PM’s specific declaration

Staff Correspondent: University students and job seekers, who are demonstrating demanding quota reformation, want specific declaration from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

They also announced not to move from the streets with assurance from any other person.

Rashed Khan, joint convener of the leading banner Bangladesh General Students’ Rights Protection Forum, came up with the announcement on Wednesday.

He said, “We do not believe in any other person’s speech. Somebodies have already made confusion. We will continue our demonstration until Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina comes up with specific declaration in this regard.”

Earlier, Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) President Saifur Rahman Sohag and General Secretary SM Jakir Hossain said in a press briefing at Madhu’s canteen that the PM assured them to cancel quota system completely.

They also said, “After such assurance from PM, there is no logic of continuation of the quota reform movement.”

Joint convener of the leading banner Bangladesh General Students Rashed Khan said, “We do not want 100 percent cancelation the quota system. It should be reformed logically and set up at 10 percent from 56 percent.”
