Muhith for reducing service charges on mobile banking

Staff Correspondent: Finance Minister AMA Muhith said that service charges on mobile banking will be reduced.

He said the government is working relentlessly to expand the mobile financial services (MFS) or mobile banking.

The finance minister said this while replying to a query in the Parliament on Tuesday.

Muhith said the service charge on mobile banking is generally dependent on three matters and these are the share of mobile banking agents, USSD value of mobile network providers and share of mobile banking service providers.

At present, Bangladesh Bank is working to reduce USSD value of mobile network providers and share of mobile banking service providers and mobile banking service charge will be reduced if it is possible to reduce the service charge on the duo, he said.
