Sport Desk: It came as a big surprise for every Bangladesh cricket fans when they saw Imrul Kayes came to do wicket-keeping in the place of test captain and regular keeper, Mushfiqur Rahim during the 3rd day of the first test between Bangladesh and New Zealand.
All eyes were searching for Mushfiqur Rahim who hit a brilliant knock of 159 runs in the first day and contributed in the record breaking partnership of 359 runs with Shakib Al Hasan. But, he was not there and he remained sited in the dressing room for whole day.
According to the Bangladesh team management, test captain, Mushfiqur Rahim will remain under observation for another 48 hours after no fracture was found in the x-ray he had before play on the third day of the first Test in Wellington.
Little master was taken to hospital after the end of 2nd day’s play as he hurt his left thumb and right index during his fantastic innings. But, the tiger continued even after that.
BCB media manager, Rabeed Imam had a short talk with Espncricinfo. According to him, the team physio Dean Conway had said Mushfiqur did not have any “obvious” fracture, but because he still was in pain his movement would remain restricted.
Rabeed added, “He will bat in the second innings if the need arises.”
